THE WHITECOSBLE QUARTERLY · 4 ISSUES / YEAR · SINCE 2022
Four issues a year, since autumn 2022.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. Each issue is a seasonal editorial collection organised around the UK sporting calendar — Cheltenham Festival, Wimbledon, Premier League, Christmas racing.
A quarterly cadence is a deliberate editorial decision. Weekly publications chase news; monthly publications chase features; quarterly publications chase considered verdicts. We re-score our twenty-two bookmaker reviews every issue, publish three to four dispatches per issue, and open with an Editor's Letter from Theodora Ashby-Wade setting the seasonal frame. The issues carry Roman numerals — Autumn 2022 was I, Spring 2026 is XV.
The seasonal anchors: Spring (Cheltenham Festival preview and review, four days at Prestbury Park that define the UK betting year), Summer (Wimbledon fortnight and The Open golf championship, the most-televised summer sporting window), Autumn (Premier League opener, Rugby Union Premiership, Autumn Nations internationals), Winter (Christmas National Hunt at Kempton, World Darts at Alexandra Palace, turn-of-year markets). Issues go live on the first Friday of March, June, September and December.
